As the core hub for opening-up in Yili, Yining has witnessed vigorous growth of port economy following the launch of regular international routes between Yining and Almaty. The increasingly frequent exchanges of cross-border personnel and enterprises have raised higher requirements for professional and efficient foreign-related legal services. The establishment of this legal aid workstation serves as a crucial step to implement the initiative of Legal Popularization Along Ten-Thousand-Li Borderlands and build law-based national portals.
In accordance with the cooperation agreement, the newly-built workstation will mainly serve entry-exit passengers, port enterprises and border inspection police officers to provide one-stop legal services. The law firm will assign professional lawyers proficient in foreign-related laws to work here regularly, offering free legal consultation, legal document drafting and rights protection docking services. Meanwhile, the two sides will set up a law enforcement coordination consultation mechanism and jointly carry out legal publicity at ports. By interpreting typical cases and distributing legal manuals, they will enhance public awareness of the rule of law, standardize law enforcement procedures and help optimize the business environment at ports.
Fan Xuejun, Director of Guangdong Chenggong (Urumqi) Law Firm, stated that the workstation will give full play to the firm's professional strengths in foreign-related legal services covering Xinjiang, Central Asia and Russia.
